APPLICATION PROCESS
The Boettcher Scholarship application is available on a separate website which cannot be accessed from this web page.
Application information is distributed every September to high school counselors. To obtain access to the Boettcher Scholarship application, see your high school counselor. Please note that only students who meet the minimum eligibility requirements will be able to apply.
Applying for a Boettcher Scholarship is an involved process. To be considered, each student must complete an application on the Boettcher Scholarship website. Additionally, an official transcript and standardized test scores must be submitted. All forms and materials must be postmarked or electronically time-stamped no later than 11:59 p.m. on November 1 of the applicant's senior year.
Early decision commitments to out-of-state institutions effectively close the door for receiving a Boettcher Scholarship. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to leave your options open and apply to colleges under the spring admissions time frame. If you are patient and wait to apply during the standard application process which notifies students of admissions decisions in April, you will be able to consider more colleges and funding options, including the possibility of winning and accepting a Boettcher Scholarship.
Following the application deadline, applicants will be notified whether or not they have advanced to the next stage of the selection process. Approximately 200 Semifinalists will be selected from the initial pool of applicants, which is typically between 900 and 1,300 students. Then, 70 Finalists will be named and each Finalist will be interviewed in Denver in person. Following interviews, 40 Boettcher Scholars will be chosen. Letters of award will be mailed to winners immediately following the interview process.
