SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM COMPONENTS
The Boettcher Scholarship is the most prestigious merit-based scholarship available to graduating high school seniors in the State of Colorado. Begun in 1952 by Claude Boettcher, the Boettcher Scholarship was initially modeled after the Rhodes Scholarship Program. The purpose of the Boettcher Scholarship is to attract Colorado's best and brightest students to attend college within the state.
Each of the 40, four-year Scholarships includes the following:
- FULL TUITION AND FEES: The Scholarship covers tuition as well as laboratory and other special fees at any of the accredited, four-year Colorado undergraduate institution listed below:

- Colorado State University - Pueblo
- Fort Lewis College
- Johnson & Wales University
- Mesa State College
- Metropolitan State University
- Regis University
- University of Colorado at Boulder
- University of Colorado at Colorado Springs
- University of Colorado at Denver

- LIVING STIPEND: Each Scholar receives a living stipend of $2,800/year.
- BOOK ALLOWANCE: The Scholarship also includes a book allowance, the amount of which is determined by the host institution each semester/quarter.
- CAMPUS ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMING: Through this program, the Foundation provides funding to the universities and colleges with a significant number of Boettcher Scholars enrolled for special programs and opportunities to enrich the Scholars' educations. Although the funds have supported a variety of opportunities, the money must be applied toward experiences that are academically enriching and particularly helpful to Boettcher Scholars as they prepare for graduate school and/or a future career.

- ANNUAL EVENTS: Each year, the Foundation hosts a variety of events for the entire Scholar community, including a holiday party that is typically held at the Governor's Residence at the Boettcher Mansion, and several community service days. These events are designed to provide Scholars from different colleges and universities the opportunity to meet and network with each other.
Additionally, the Foundation hosts three Scholarship events for the 40 new Scholars each year:
- Rockies Baseball Game (in a luxury suite generously donated by the Rockies Baseball Club)
- Teacher Recognition Awards Program
- New Scholar Orientation
