30 Jan Katie Kramer re-elected board president of National Scholarship Providers Association

Jan 30, 2014 — Katie Kramer, vice president and assistant executive director of the Boettcher Foundation, has been re-elected as president of the National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA).  “I am proud of the accomplishments we made last year related to the NSPA’s staffing and governance infrastructure,” Kramer said. “As we move into the second year of implementing our strategic plan, we intend to strengthen the programs and services we offer to NSPA members and advocate more effectively for the scholarship industry through enhanced research, analysis, and a stronger national voice.” The Boulder-based NSPA is a nonprofit, membership association that advances the collective impact of scholarship providers and the scholarships they award. The association has 320 member organizations, and its annual conference has grown to 350 scholarship professionals from postsecondary institutions, private foundations, public charities, community foundations, and corporate and government programs. Kramer brings to her position a wealth of knowledge and background in an industry she is particularly passionate about. Her role at the Boettcher Foundation includes oversight of the Boettcher Scholarship, a merit-based scholarship that annually awards 40 full-ride scholarships for Colorado students to attend the in-state college or university of their choice. October 4, 2013  — The Boettcher Foundation Board has announced the election of a new Trustee. Comprised of twelve Colorado business and community leaders, Trustees are responsible for the oversight of the Boettcher Foundation, including support and preservation of its vision and mission. Christine Marquez-Hudson, CEO/Executive Director, Mi Casa Resource Center Christine Marquez-Hudson joined Mi Casa in 2008 and immediately led the organization through a comprehensive strategic process that redefined Mi Casa’s mission. As a result, Mi Casa is now a Colorado leader in sector-focused job training, women and minority owned business development, and youth and family development programs. Marquez-Hudson is a recognized community leader. Along with many other awards, she is the 2013 9News Leader of the year, a prestigious honor awarded to an emerging leader who has made a significant contribution to the well-being of Colorado. She is a 2009 Bonfils-Stanton Livingston Fellow, A Colorado Trust Fellow, and an alum of the National Hispana Leadership Institutes’ Executive Leadership Program. She received her undergraduate degree from UCLA. She then went on to receive her Masters of Nonprofit Management from Regis University. 17 Jul Boettcher Foundation announces 2013 community enrichment capital grant awards

July 17, 2013 — The Boettcher Foundation Trustees are pleased to announce the selection of 21 Colorado nonprofits to receive the 2013 Boettcher Foundation Community Enrichment Capital Grant Awards. For 75 years, the Boettcher Foundation has awarded capital grants to Colorado nonprofits for the purchase, construction, or major renovation of buildings. 15 Feb Boettcher Foundation welcomes new operations manager

February 15, 2015 — The Boettcher Foundation has named Lynnea Louison the new operations manager. Louison graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish and later completed a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Denver. She has since specialized in the human resources field. Prior to joining the Boettcher Foundation, Louison worked in human resources at Denver-based Tony’s Market. “We are so excited that Lynnea is joining our staff. She has the perfect mix of skills and experience to be successful in the unique position that is the Boettcher Foundation’s operations manager,” said vice president of the Boettcher Foundation, Katie Kramer. As Operations Manager, Louison will assist in the Boettcher Foundation’s 75th Anniversary celebrations, as well as manage human resources, communications, special events, and projects. 14 Feb Katie Kramer named board president of National Scholarship Providers Association

February 15, 2013 — Katie Kramer, vice president of the Boettcher Foundation, has been elected president of the National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA). “It has been an honor to serve on the NSPA Board for the past six years and with this new role as board president, I am excited about the launch and execution of the NSPA’s new strategic plan. It will allow us take our organization to the next level and better serve our scholarship provider members across the country and ultimately the students we all support,” Kramer said. The NSPA’s mission is to “advance the collective impact of scholarship providers and the scholarships they award.” Similarly, Kramer’s role at the Boettcher Foundation involves awarding four-year, merit-based scholarships to students in the State of Colorado. Her passion for granting scholarships to deserving candidates stems from her own experience as a student. “I know personally the profound impact that receiving a Boettcher Scholarship for my education has made in my life and for my family,” Kramer said. Kramer hopes to serve the members and visions of both the NSPA and the Boettcher Foundation who provide the financial support to ultimately make a difference in the lives of scholarship recipients.
