Jackie Yelton joined the Boettcher Foundation team in 2018. She is passionate about elevating people in the communities around her and is excited to work toward this goal by helping to coordinate the inner workings of the foundation.
Prior to joining the foundation, Jackie travelled extensively through both professional and volunteer opportunities. Most notably, she worked in Uganda as an international program coordinator at the Foundation for Sustainable Development. Her primary roles included mentoring interns, building community relations, acting as a cultural liaison, and supporting various foundation initiatives and projects.
While growing up in Littleton, Jackie attended Dakota Ridge High School, where she was deeply involved in the instrumental music program and was awarded both the Patrick S. Gilmore and the John Philip Sousa awards. She earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Brigham Young University – Idaho before beginning her ventures abroad. She is working toward a master’s degree in poverty reduction from the University of London.
Jackie is a big movie buff and can often be found at the dollar theater or binge-watching Netflix at home. She also loves hiking, exploring new places and spending time with friends and family.
I went bungee jumping over the Nile, though I’m not sure it counts because I had to be pushed!
Having Broncos parties! I love the feeling of Colorado pride and unity when Broncos games come around. Plus, I come up with some pretty killer fantasy football team names.
