Julie Lerudis

Senior Advisor

After a rewarding 14-year career at the Boettcher Foundation, Julie is transitioning to a part-time consulting role through year-end of 2021. Julie joined the Foundation in 2007, serving in a variety of roles including director of finance & operations, director of grant programs, and director of strategic initiatives. She launched the Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards Program and the Space to Create Colorado Initiative.

Julie is a CPA with more than 25 years of experience in accounting and project management in the nonprofit, healthcare, and real estate sectors. She is a frequent presenter on nonprofit financial statements, and her passion is strengthening communities and magnifying impact through leveraging talent and connecting resources. She began her career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Her interest in private foundations was sparked when she worked as a financial advisor in a family office practice.

Born and raised in New Mexico, Julie graduated with honors from New Mexico State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She has called Colorado home for more than 20 years. Outside of work, Julie loves to spend time with her family, friends, and crazy dog.

Favorite Colorado Experience:

Taking my husband and kids to the Movie Manor Hotel/Drive-In Theater in Monte Vista, snowshoeing to the Tennessee Pass Cookhouse Yurt outside of Leadville for one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and enjoying the beautiful Colorado landscape.

Fun Fact:

I was an extra in the original Red Dawn movie. That was the beginning and end of my acting career.
