02 Jul Katie Kramer named interim executive director of Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation
July 2, 2014 — Katie Kramer, current vice president and assistant executive director of the Boettcher Foundation, has been named interim executive director of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation. The arrangement is made possible through a generous partnership with the Boettcher Foundation, which has agreed to an executive loan of Kramer to the Leadership Foundation.
“As a longtime supporter, I know firsthand the importance of the Leadership Foundation and its work to encourage collaboration and civic engagement in the metro area. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on behalf of the Leadership Foundation,” Kramer said. “The generous partnership with the Boettcher Foundation further underscores Boettcher’s deep commitment to fostering leadership in our region.”
A Boettcher Scholar herself, Kramer has worked in several capacities at the Boettcher Foundation since 1997. She is a fourth-generation Coloradan who is highly invested in the local community, both in her professional capacity and her extensive volunteer involvement. Kramer has deep knowledge of the Leadership Foundation as a Leadership Denver graduate, one of the co-chairs of Colorado Experience, and member of the Leadership Foundation board of directors since 2009, during which time she has provided transformative ideas to the Leadership Foundation.
“Katie is a talented leader and strong community presence who has the network, smarts, and vision to lead our Foundation to even greater impact,” said Kelly Brough, president and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. “The Boettcher Foundation has been a longtime partner of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, and we are incredibly grateful to the leadership there for the opportunity to tap into the talent of Katie.”
During her time as interim executive director, Katie will focus on the completion of strategic initiatives and the improvement of operational effectiveness. This provides the Leadership Foundation with an immediately qualified and internal leader to provide time to identify another appropriate and capable permanent executive director for the Leadership Foundation.
Kramer attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she was a Presidents Leadership Scholar and honors graduate from the Leeds College of Business. In 2009, she completed her Executive MBA at the University of Denver as an honors graduate.
“The Boettcher Foundation’s mission is to improve the life of Coloradans through investments in both physical and human capital. This executive loan is a unique opportunity to support that goal by sharing one of our own talented leaders,” said Tim Schultz, president and executive director of the Boettcher Foundation. “We admire and appreciate the work of the Leadership Foundation, including its programs to cultivate leadership programs on the state’s college campuses, and are happy to support it in this way.”
