Garrett Mayberry
Grants Program Officer
As program manager, Garrett is the primary point of contact for organizations seeking information on Boettcher Foundation grants. He manages the Foundation’s responsive grantmaking program as well as a portfolio of leadership grants, scholar enrichment grants, and the Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards program. Garrett thoroughly enjoys connecting people and ideas with the right combination of opportunities and resources.
Prior to joining Boettcher, Garrett worked as a fellow at El Pomar Foundation, where he helped launch an environmental stewardship program and led an election exchange program for a delegation of international political leaders. He also was an intern with the Beanstalk Foundation in Denver, where he honed his love for creative philanthropy and writing.
Raised in Arvada, Garrett attended the University of Colorado Boulder as a Boettcher Scholar, where he studied Spanish, Portuguese, and International Affairs and was a member of the Presidents Leadership Class. His penchant for travel and language led him abroad to Brazil, Costa Rica, and Belgium, but his heart feels at home among the sunny skies and promising people of Colorado.
Garrett is passionate about social enterprise and serves on the board of Blue Star Recyclers, a nonprofit that employs individuals with remarkable abilities through the ethical recycling of e-waste. When not exploring new running trails or playing soccer, he can most likely be found hovering over a plate of spicy Mexican food with a good book close by.
