Royce Hinojosa

2022 CC Scholar
Scholar Representative

Royce is a 2022 Scholar from Bayfield High School attending Colorado College. Before CC, Royce grew up on his family’s ranch where he came to love running, hammocking, and climbing in the beautiful San Juans. As a candidate for a B.A. in economics and philosophy, he knows impactful work not only through quantitative rigor, but as a function of broader institutional contexts. When he’s not spending time outside, he’s working at the forefront of state and federal-level climate policy– ensuring the green transition works for both urban and rural economies across the American West. His policy portfolio isn’t limited to climate policy, growing to include economic development, agriculture, international trade, and rural affairs. Royce is deeply passionate Colorado and excited to continue digging deeply into the communities he loves!

Favorite Boettcher Memory: Climbing a 14er right after Scholar’s Weekend with another Scholar from the Southwest!

Favorite Colorado Experience:

Camping in Crested Butte right as the colors are turning! Oh but maybe cross country skiing in Telluride? Hammock camping in the San Juans during the summer, too.
