Meet David Von Drehle, a 1979 University of Denver Boettcher Scholar and 1983 Marshall Scholar. In this video we discuss his life experience as an award-winning reporter and author, as well as a conscientious father and friend. David leads on the international stage as a deputy opinion editor and columnist for the Washington Post, as well as back home in Kansas City, MO through various civic engagements. His previous written work includes profiles of prominent historical figures, multiple Time magazine cover stories, and an in-depth look at the death penalty. In his most recent book, “The Book of Charlie,” David memorializes a 109-year-old friend who throughout his long life demonstrated, in David’s words, how “Resourcefulness can be a close cousin of resilience.”
