DENVER, January 27, 2025 — The Boettcher Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Tom George to its Board of Trustees.
A diverse and dynamic group of philanthropic and business leaders, Boettcher Trustees play a key role in supporting and guiding the Foundation’s mission to invest in the promise of Colorado and the potential of Coloradans.
Tom is a partner at Spencer Fane LLP and brings extensive experience in special district and local government law to the board. As a 2001 Boettcher Scholar from Rifle, Tom’s appointment represents a full-circle milestone in his life and career.
“Tom’s commitment to public service and his grasp of complex issues facing Coloradans make him an exceptional addition to our Board,” said Katie Kramer, Boettcher Foundation president & CEO. “As a Boettcher Scholar Alum, Tom exemplifies the qualities we strive to support at the Boettcher Foundation – a dedicated and community-minded individual committed to making a meaningful impact in his personal and professional life.”
Tom previously served as an assistant attorney general in the Natural Resources & Environment section of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, representing the state in water rights litigation, water conservation projects, and environmental issues throughout the Colorado River Basin.
“The only honor greater than being awarded a Boettcher Scholarship is being asked to serve as a Trustee,” he said. “More than an opportunity, this is a charge and responsibility to advance the Foundation’s mission while honoring the past contributions of the Boettcher family, previous Trustees, and Scholar and Alumni communities.”
When not practicing law, Tom and his wife, along with their two young children, are constantly on the move — biking, skiing, and exploring Colorado communities and landscapes.
In addition to its newest board appointment, the Boettcher Foundation is also excited to announce its slate of officers for the year.
